Level your books for Common Core

Your students will need to use books with different instructional reading levels to reach the Common Core standards. To meet  your students’ varying needs, you don’t always have to buy all new books.  You can use free sites to level the books you already have.  There are a lot of searchable web sites that provide Fountas and Pinnell levels, Lexile levels, Reading Counts! levels, and Reading Recovery levels for titles that are entered into the search function.Once you have your books leveled, you can create a simple system for identifying them in your classroom, such as different colored stickers.
